Inconel forged fittings are constructed of high-nickel alloys with nickel (58–72%), chromium (15–23%), molybdenum, iron, and trace elements. The alloys have tensile strengths ranging from 760–1100 MPa and yield strengths ranging from 345–760 MPa, depending on the grade. Inconel has remarkable resistance to carburization, oxidation, and thermal fatigue, even at temperatures in excess of 1000 °C. Toughness, dimensional accuracy, and crack resistance are improved by the forged structure. These characteristics make Inconel fittings suitable for cryogenic and high-temperature service.
