Inconel 601 is a nickel-chromium alloy containing additions of aluminum and iron—usually having 61% nickel, 23% chromium, and 1.4% aluminum. This alloy offers excellent oxidation, carburization, and thermal shock resistance. It possesses tensile strength of 650–750 MPa and yield strength approximately 275 MPa, which is apt for high stress and high temperature. The alloy retains structural integrity and mechanical properties up to 1200°C. Inconel 601 also opposes spalling under long-term service at high temperatures and thus is well suited for constant thermal cycling.
