Duplex Steel Pipe Fittings are fabricated out of a stainless steel alloy containing a balanced microstructure of austenite and ferrite phases. This material has better mechanical strength, generally double that of standard austenitic stainless steels, and excellent stress corrosion cracking and chloride-induced corrosion resistance. They also have tensile strengths in the range of 620 to 850 MPa and yield strengths around 450 MPa. The fittings have good low-temperature toughness as well as resistance against pitting, crevice corrosion, and general corrosion and are found suitable for aggressive industrial conditions.
